- Ok, I wasn´t supposed to post a dessert these days, the truth is that I had this recipe in my folders since Xmas. This year I wasn´t in the mood to eat Turrón, well at least in my house, the truth is that I was craving for a nice and rich chocolate mousse, and wanted to make a new recipe I was curious about, leche merengada, which surprisingly was gorgeous and helped to soothe our anxious stomachs. You say "chocolate" in here and everyone´s eyes open, and when we were close to lunch time, they started to swarm around my kitchen and (as it happened that day), there´s always a volunteer begging me to let him have the whole bowl of leftover chocolate batter, so he could spoon off with his finger....Ah, those leftover batters in the bottom of the bowls, I wonder why they are so wonderful and always mouthwatering.

- I didn´t want to translate the word cottage into Spanish. A house in the countryside could sound a bit posh when, when this recipe is one of the most humble, but on the other side, a great speciality of British cookery. The first cottage pies were known to have been in use around the 18th century, country people used to eat them, as a way to use their beef leftovers, covered with mashed potato when potato was introduced as an edible crop affordable for the poor. The term "Sheperd´s pie" appeared when the meat used to make it was lamb. This term has been used synonymously with "cottage pie", regardless of whether the principal ingredient was beef or mutton.
